Frequently Asked Questions

How long are sessions and how frequently will we meet?

  • Sessions are 45 minutes long and we’ll meet once a week at the same day/time each week. There is the option to reduce the frequency of sessions over time if appropriate.

Do you accept insurance?

  • I am considered an “out-of-network” provider. Many insurance plans cover out-of-network costs and will reimburse between 60-80% of the cost of sessions. You will be responsible for the full cost at the time of each session and I can provide you with an invoice that you will submit to your insurance company for reimbursement. If you are interested in pursuing this option, call your insurance company to ask if they cover mental health services, if you have out-of-network benefits, and if you have deductible/if it has been met.

How much do sessions cost?

  • Please inquire directly and we can discuss cost per session. I also offer a sliding scale for those who do not have out of network insurance coverage.

What can I expect in my first appointment?

  • In the first appointment, we will review paperwork, get to know one another, and make a plan for treatment. I will ask you about your most immediate concerns and how they may be impacting your life. We’ll discuss your past, present, and hopes for the future. I will tell you how I might be able to help and we’ll make a plan for our work together. I welcome you to ask questions and express any feelings you may be having about starting therapy.

What is the duration of therapy?

  • The duration of therapy depends on each individual. Some people come to therapy to work on a specific problem and once it has improved or resolved, they choose to stop. Others may have ongoing goals that they’re working on and so treatment may be longer term. You are free to terminate therapy at any time and termination is something we can discuss on a regular basis.

Do you offer in-person or teletherapy sessions?

  • I am currently offering both in-person and teletherapy sessions. In-person sessions are being offered on Wednesdays at 302 5th Ave, New York, NY 10001. Please be advised that you must reside in the state of New York in order to have teletherapy sessions.
